What is a Favicon?
A favicon (short for favorite icon) is a 16x16 pixel icon used on web browsers to represent a website or a web page brand.
What is the purpose of a Favicon?
The main purpose of a favicon is to help make it easier for visitors to locate your page when they have multiple tabs open.
How to add a favicon to your Wix site
In order to upload your own favicon you must first:
Upgrade your site to a Premium Plan.
After upgrading your Wix site and connecting a domain, you are now able to upload a favicon to your website.
Change or add a favicon to your Wix website
First, log in to your Wix website to access your sites dashboard
After logging into your website, go to Settings in your sites dashboard located in the bottom left-hand corner
After clicking settings the next screen will give you the option to click Website Settings
Next, scroll down and click Update Image in the Favicon section
Finally, select your favicon and click Choose Files
Note: The size of your favicon must be a multiple of 48px square (such as 48x48, 96x96, etc) unless it is an SVG file. Google will rescale your favicon to 16x16px for search results.
